Formula #22

Noun-এর পূর্বে All/Both/Half প্রভৃতি থাকে, তবে তাদের পরে এবং Noun-এর পূর্বে The বসে।

He spent all the money.
He ate half the bread.

কারো কিছু আছে বুঝালে ‘আছে’ ক্রিয়ার ইংরেজি Have/Has বসে। এটি মূলত বাক্যে main verb হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয় এবং এর পরে অবশই Noun বসে।

আমার একটি কলম আছে। —- I have a pen.
গরুর দুইটি শিং আছে। —- The cow has two horns.

কারো কিছু আছে কি বুঝালে ‘আছে কি’ কথার ইংরেজি দুইভাবে করা যায়।

তার ছাতা আছে কি? —- Has he an umbrella?/Does he have an umbrella?
তোমার কি একটি বই আছে? —-Have you a book?/Do you have a book?

কারো কিছু নাই বুঝালে ‘নাই’ কথার ইংরেজি দুইভাবে করা যায়।

আমার বই নাই। —- I have no book./I don’t have any book.
তার কোন অহংকার নেই। —- She has no pride./She does not have any pride.
Note: 3rd person singular number হলে verb-এর শেষে s/es যোগ হয়।

নির্দিষ্ট কোন ব্যক্তি বা বস্তু বা প্রাণী কোথাও আছে বুঝালে ‘আছে’ ক্রিয়ার ইংরেজি Am/Is/Are বসে।

সে বাড়িতে আছে। —- He is in the house.
তারা বিপদে আছে। —- They are in danger.

নির্দিষ্ট কোন ব্যক্তি বা বস্তু বা প্রাণী আছে কি বুঝালে ‘আছে কি’ কথার ইংরেজি করতে বাক্যের ঐ Am/Is/Are বাক্যের প্রথমে বসে এবং বাক্যের শেষে প্রশ্নবোধক (?) চিহ্ন দেওয়া হয়।

সে বাড়িতে আছে কি? —- Is he in the house?
তারা বিপদে আছে কি? —- Are they in danger?

কোন নির্দিষ্ট ব্যক্তি বা বস্তু বা প্রাণী আছে বুঝালে ‘আছে’ কথার ইংরেজি There is/There are হয়।

মাঠে দু’টি গরু আছে। —- There are two cows in the field.
পঞ্চগড়ে একটি জাদুঘর আছে। —- There is a museum in Panchagarh.

অনির্দিষ্ট কেহ বা কিছু ‘আছে কি’ বুঝালে তার ইংরেজি করার সময় Is/Are শব্দগুলো There-এর আগে বসে এবং বাক্যের শেষে প্রশ্নবোধক চিহ্ন দিতে হয়।

এই গ্রামে কোন আইনজীবি আছে কি? —- Is there any lawyer in this village?
তোমার পকেটে তিনটি কমল আছে কি? —- Are there three pens in your pocket?
Note: কোন অনির্দিষ্ট ব্যক্তি বা বস্তু নাই বুঝালে ‘নাই’ কথার ইংরেজি There is no বসে। যেমন: আমাদের গ্রামে কোন ডাক্তার নাই। —- There is no doctor in our village.

Formula #30

অতীত সময় হতে কেউ কোথাও আছে বুঝালে ‘আছে’ ক্রিয়ার ইংরেজি Have been/Has been বসে।

আমি গত রোববার হতে এখানে আছি। —- I have been here since Sunday last.
স্নেহা দুই ঘণ্টা যাবত স্কুলে আছে। —- Sneha has been in the school for two hours.

#১১তম ক্লাস

নিজের কানকে প্রশিক্ষিত করুন, ভালো ইংরেজি জানতে হলে Listening Skill বাড়ান। যত বেশি আপনি নিজ কানে শুনে বুঝবেন, ততই আপনার শেখাটা ত্বরান্বিত হবে। বেশি বেশি ইংরেজি মুভি দেখুন, গান শুনুন, ডকুমেন্টারি প্রোগ্রাম দেখুন। ধীরে ধীরে আপনার Listening Skill অনেক Developed হয়ে উঠবে।

অনুশীলনের বিকল্প নেই, প্রয়োজনে আপনি ঘরের দরজা বন্ধ করে আয়নার সামনে দাঁড়িয়ে ইংরেজিতে কথা বলা অনুশীলন করুন এবং নিজের Voice রেকর্ড করে শুনুন। এতে আপনার Confidence বাড়বে, নিজের ভুলগুলোও বুঝতে পারবেন। ইনশাল্লাহ এটা খুবই কাজে দেয়, করেই দেখুন একবার।

তো শুরু করা যাক আজকের ক্লাস (১১তম ক্লাস)

going = (গোয়িং) = যাচ্ছি
I am going at home. = (আই এ্যাম গোয়িং এ্যাট হোম) = আমি বাড়িতে যাচ্ছি।

playing = (প্লেয়িং) = খেলছি
I'm playing. = (আই'ম প্লেয়িং) = আমি খেলতেছি।

city = (সিটি) = শহর
This is Dhaka city. = (দিস ইজ ঢাকা সিটি) = এটা ঢাকা শহর।

capital = (কেপিটাল) = রাজধানী
In the capital. = (ইন দা কেপিটাল) = রাজধানীতে।
Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh. = (ঢাকা ইজ দা কেপিটাল অব বাংলাদেশ) = ঢাকা বাংলাদেশের রাজধানী।

I'll go to Dhaka tomorrow. = (আই'ল গো টু ঢাকা টুমোরো) = আমি আগামীকাল ঢাকা যাব।

let's start = (লেট'স স্টার্ট) = চল শুরু করি
Let's start with this. = (লেট'স স্টার্ট উইথ দিস) = চল এইটা দিয়ে শুরু করি।

I'm very busy now. = (আই'ম ভেরি বিজি নাউ) = আমি এখন খুবই ব্যাস্ত।

store = (স্টোর) = দোকান
This is my new store. = (দিস ইজ মাই নিউ স্টোর) = এটা আমার নতুন দোকান।

job = (জব) = চাকরি
I have a new job. = (আই হেভ এ নিউ জব) = আমার একটি নতুন চাকরি হয়েছে।

work = (ওয়ার্ক) = কাজ
Will you work. = (উইল ইউ ওয়ার্ক) = তুমিকি কাজ করবে? / তুমিকি চাকরি করবে?

There is a new job for you. = (দেয়ার ইজ এ নিউ জব ফর ইউ) = তোমার জন্য একটি নতুন চাকরি আছে।

You are my best friend. = (ইউ আর মাই বেস্ট ফ্রেন্ড) = তুমি আমার সেরা বন্ধু।

I have more friends. = (আই হেভ মোর ফ্রেন্ডস) = আমার আরো বন্ধু আছে।

them = (দেম) = তাদের
best = (বেস্ট) = সেরা
Best of them. = (বেস্ট অব দেম) = তাদের মধ্যে সেরা।

But you are best of them. = (বাট ইউ আর বেস্ট অব দেম) = কিন্তু তুমি তাদের মধ্যে সেরা।

I have many friends in Dhaka. = (আই হেভ মেনি ফ্রেন্ডস ইন ঢাকা) = ঢাকায় আমার অনেক বন্ধু আছে।

Where are you from? = (হয়ার ইউ আর ফ্রম) = তুমি কোথায় থেকে?

I mean, where is your home? = (আই মিন হয়ার ইজ ইয়োর হোম?) = আমি বুঝাতে চাই, তোমার বাড়ি কোথায়?

Have a lot of night. = (হেভ এ লট অব নাইট) = অনেক রাত হয়েছে।

Like a rocket. = (লাইক এ রকেট) = রকেটের মত।
Went = (ওয়েন্ট) = গেল / গিয়াছে
Went like a rocket. = (ওয়েন্ট লাইক এ রকেট) = রকেটের মত গেল।

I'm waiting for you. = (আই'ম ওয়েটিং ফর ইউ) = আমি তোমার অপেক্ষায় আছি।

Will you go with me? = (উইল ইউ গো উইথ মি?) = তুমি কি আমার সাথে যাবে?
