Given the size and typical bustle of the airport, flying with Southwest Airlines out of JFK was surprisingly easy. I expected long lines, so I arrived a little early, but the Southwest check-in area was peaceful and orderly, with friendly staff members assisting passengers with bag drop. I only needed to scan my boarding pass at the kiosk before security because I had checked in via the app. I liked the courteous officers and the obvious signage, and the TSA line moved smoothly. Once airside, the gate area was roomy, spotlessly clean, and equipped with plenty of charging stations and cozy seating, making it the ideal place to grab a last-minute snack or catch up on emails.
