Nick Axten began his PhD in 'Mathematical Sociology' at the University of Pittsburgh in 1970. But after 5 years he moved to his home country UK leaving his PhD incomplete In fact, the subject of his research was very difficult. It took him 50 years to understand. Then he resumed his studies in 2016. He completed his MA in Philosophy from the University of Bristol and started his PhD there. At the age of 76, he received his Ph.D. 52 years passed in between.
