America: Legal status of international students in America revoked

Anjan Roy, a computer science graduate student at Missouri State University who came to the United States from Bangladesh, suddenly had his legal status revoked. The decision caused him great emotional distress. But his status was restored after a court issued a temporary restraining order.
​ Court battles
Across the United States, more than 1,190 students have had their visas or legal status revoked. Of these, 133 are the plaintiffs in a lawsuit filed in Atlanta. The judges found that the actions taken against the students caused legal harm and issued temporary restraining orders.
