Electricity demand is set to reach 245 gigawatts this summer

Telangana: The electricity demand across the country is expected to increase to 245 GW this summer. The Union Power Ministry has formulated various plans to meet this demand.Currently, the country has a total installed capacity of 427 gigawatts of electricity generation, and there are proposals to increase this capacity to 900 gigawatts by 2030.In order to increase this generation capacity, the Centre and the states will coordinate their efforts and set up new units. Although the power generation capacity has increased in recent years, the consumption of electricity has also increased significantly.
