E-Pass: E-Pass system implemented in Ooty, Kodaikanal

E-pass system comes into effect
The Tamil Nadu government is implementing the e-pass system to reduce traffic congestion in Ooty and Kodaikanal during the summer season. These restrictions will be in effect from April 1 to the last week of June, as per the orders of the Madras High Court. To control the traffic congestion due to the increase in the number of tourists during the months of April and May, only 6,000 to 8,000 vehicles are allowed per day. Vehicles will not be allowed at the check posts without an e-pass. Vehicles and ambulances from the Nilgiri district are exempted. The government has made it clear that it is mandatory for tourists to obtain an e-pass online in advance.
