Interventional pulmonology implies the profession in which advanced techniques such as bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), and pleuroscopy are used in the treatment of disorders such as lung cancer, severe asthma, pleural effusion, and obstructive airways. These procedures allow for extremely accurate diagnosis and effective treatment without necessarily resorting to open surgery.
