History of Rangnath Ji Temple

Rangnath Ji Temple is also called Rangaji Temple. It is located in Mathura. This temple is dedicated to the Lord Ranganantha. He is the form of Lord Vishnu.

This temple was built in 1851 by a Maratha ruler. His name was Mahadji Shinde. He was famous for reviving the Hindu temple and culture. The temple architecture is a mix of North Indian and South Indian style. The Rangji Temple architecture is similar to the temples located in south India.

The temple has a water pond and a beautiful garden which is called Rang Bagh. It is a very popular site among the worshippers of Lord Vishnu. Festivals like Holi and Janmashtami is celebrated in this temple with great enthusiasm.
