Baseball's KIA wins first regular season title in 7 years, heads to Korean Series
For the first time in seven years, baseball's KIA has won the regular season title and advanced directly to the Korean Series.
The league leaders lost 0-2 away to SSG at Munhak Stadium, but second-place Samsung's 4-8 loss to Doosan on the same day kept their lead at eight games, clinching first place in the regular season regardless of the outcome of their remaining seven games.
With a strong batting lineup led by Kim Do-young, who in his third year as a professional has become one of the league's top hitters, KIA will look to win the franchise's 12th Korean Series title in the postseason, which begins later this month.
