South Korea defeats North Macedonia to advance to World Junior Women's Handball 13-14
The South Korea Under-20 Women's National Handball Team has advanced to the 13th-14th place match at the World Championship.
South Korea, coached by O'Neil (Gwangju City Corporation), defeated North Macedonia 34-19 in the 13th-16th place match on day eight of the 24th World Junior Women's Handball Championship in Skopje, North Macedonia, today (Aug. 28).
South Korea was led on offense by Kim Ji-A (Samcheok City Hall) with eight goals and Lee Hye-Won (Busan Facilities Corporation) added six goals in the 15-goal victory.
South Korea will face Egypt for the 13th spot.
The winner of this match will be the best non-European finisher in the 32-nation tournament.
South Korea finished 19th in the last edition of the tournament in 2022.
The other quarterfinal matches are Hungary-Netherlands and France-Denmark.
