A 500-million-year-old fossil has been discovered, revealing new information about the origins of mollusks.

The fossil belongs to a newly identified species called Shishania aculeata, an ancient spiny slug. These early mollusks were flat, armored creatures covered in cone-shaped spines, rather than shells. The well-preserved fossils show a complex secretion system, similar to that of annelids (such as earthworms).

This discovery provides valuable insights into the evolutionary history of mollusks and their ancient adaptations. Explore the details of this find and how it contributes to our understanding of life's evolution.

New Study Reveals Potential Gigantic Size of Dinosaurs

A groundbreaking study published in the scientific journal Ecology and Evolution has unveiled new insights into the maximum potential sizes of dinosaurs, specifically focusing on the carnivorous Tyrannosaurus rex.

Through advanced computer modeling, Dr. Jordan Mallon from the Canadian Museum of Nature and Dr. David Hone from Queen Mary University of London have produced estimates suggesting that the T. rex might have been up to 70% heavier than previously thought based on fossil evidence.

The skeleton of a very well-preserved rare dinosaur is being auctioned for sale. The auction will be held in Paris next month. This skeleton of the camptosaurus species of dinosaur dates back to the Jurassic period about 150 million years ago.

The dinosaur skeleton was found in the US state of Wyoming in the 1990s. In 2000, paleontologist Barry James initially took steps to preserve it. The skeleton was named Barry after him.
