RBI Plan for Stressed Asset Securitization UPSC
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has recently proposed a draft framework for the securitization of stressed assets through a market-based mechanism. This initiative aims to provide an alternative route for resolving non-performing assets (NPAs) beyond the existing Asset Reconstruction Company (ARC) route under the SARFAESI Act, 2002. The move is designed to deepen the market for stressed asset resolution by attracting a broader investor base and improving risk distribution among lenders and investors.
