India Moves Towards Mandatory Vehicle Scrapping Norms
The Government of India has recently announced a mandatory Vehicle Scrapping Policy to phase out unfit and polluting vehicles in an effort to reduce emissions. According to statistics, around 17-20% of the total motor vehicles registered in India are deemed unfit or too old to ply on the roads but continue to do so.
State-of-the-art technology like robotic arms, shredders, material handlers will be used to systematically dismantle an old vehicle with focus on safety and minimal damage to the environment. Components like engines, transmissions, aluminium, copper, rubber will be segregated and sent for recycling
