Char Dham Yatra 2024

Chardham temples open in the months of April or May, and final dates get announced on Basant Panchami and Mahashivratri. The tentative dates of temples opening are on the auspicious day of Akshay Tritiya, which will fall on May 10, 2024, this year. The Badrinath-Kedarnath Samiti announces the opening dates every year as per the Hindu calendar, which is assumed to be the final dates. For the Char Dham Yatra 2024, reaching the sacred sites in Uttarakhand involves:

Yamunotri: Start from Dehradun or Haridwar, then drive to Hanuman Chatti and trek 6 km to the temple.

Gangotri: Journey from Dehradun or Haridwar to Uttarkashi, then drive to Gangotri via Harsil.

Kedarnath: Travel from Haridwar, Rishikesh, or Dehradun to Gaurikund, then trek or hire transportation for the 16 km journey to Kedarnath.

Badrinath: Drive through Joshimath, Chamoli, and Govindghat to reach Badrinath, or opt for helicopter services from Dehradun or Phata.
