The club has shown a willingness to make changes, even if it means winning, and a new list of coaches is being assembled to replace Van Gaal.
"If United don't want me, I will go to another team to win trophies, that's what I do. That's what I do," he said, suggesting that he is open to parting ways.

KT defeats KCC to even championship series at 1-1
Busan KCC head coach Jeon Chang-jin praised Heo Hoon (KT) after the 2023-2024 Jungkwanjang Professional Basketball Championship Finals (7 games to 4) at KT Arena in Suwon on Monday. He said, "He was amazing. In the championship game, players should play with that mentality. We were too complacent, and that eventually led to our defense."
Hehun scored 12 points in Game 1 on Nov. 27. However, the team did not live up to its name as it shot just 36.4 percent from the field. KT also suffered a 17-point loss at home. Heo Hoon's pride was crumpled.
Game 2 was determined. Hehun played a full 40 minutes without taking a single second off, and KT was able to smile again.
He finished with a 22-point, 10-assist "double-double" to lead his team to a 101-97 victory. Paris Bass was the top scorer on the night (36 points, 11 rebounds), but Heo stood out for a reason.
Bass was held "scoreless" in the first half. He missed some easy shots and certainly wasn't the same player he was in Game 1, when he scored 20 points in the first half alone.
But Heo bought enough time for Bath to explode. After leading KT's offense with nine points in the first quarter, Hehun scored nine points in the second quarter on three 3-pointers and poured in 18 points in the half. KCC led 53-44 at the half behind Alize DeShawn Johnson (29 points), who scored 23 points in the second quarter alone, but Heo did his part.
Finally, Bass exploded in the second half after being rested in the second quarter. Bass did all of his damage in the third quarter, scoring 23 points in the quarter alone. A revitalized KT, led by Ha Yoon-ki (13 points, 10 rebounds), closed the third quarter with a 79-73 lead and held off a late KCC charge in the fourth quarter to secure the win. In the second half, Heo Hoon, whose scoring was relatively low as Bath's offense came alive, assisted on Ha Yoon-ki's dunk to make it 100-97 with 1:03 left in the game, and with 6.4 seconds left in regulation, he made 1 of 2 free throws after being fouled and then intentionally missed the second, giving his opponent no time to call a timeout.
With the championship tied 1-1, the series now moves to Busan for Games 3 and 4. The third game between the two teams will be held on May 1 at Busan Sajik Gymnasium.

'MLB is good enough for me!' Lee hits for the second straight game
The San Francisco Giants' newest star, 25-year-old Lee Jung-hoo, has started his Major League Baseball (MLB) career with a bang. In his first two games, Lee made his presence felt with back-to-back hits.
"I'd give myself an 80, I think I'm doing okay," Lee modestly told reporters after the game against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park in San Diego, California, on Sept. 29 (local time).
After a one-hit performance in his MLB debut, he followed it up with a multi-hit game on the second day, marking his second consecutive game with a hit since his debut. "I thought I had to be aggressive because I'm facing new pitchers every day, and I think it paid off," Lee said.
In particular, he said the advice he received from Kim Ha-seong (28, San Diego Padres) over dinner after his first game the previous day was very helpful. "He told me, 'It's good to be a star, but you shouldn't make plays that cause trouble,'" Lee said. "In Korea, I had a big heart and a lot of greed to solve problems, but here, I felt it was important to just play my role well."
Lee's contribution to the Giants' 8-3 win proved that he is committed to helping the team win. He also commented on the atmosphere in MLB clubhouses, which is different from Korea, saying, "I've experienced the highs and lows of winning and losing."
"The atmosphere was very good, and I could see the ball well, so it was easy to field," Lee said of his experience playing at night. However, he added, "I think the ball stretches a little bit more, so I'll have to get used to that."
