A family photograph from the old country of Denmark, taken at the turn of the 1900s. ??????

My paternal great-grandfather, Hans Jørgen Pedersen (standing back row right), with his brothers, Peder Pedersen (left) and Anton Pedersen (middle).

Seated are my great-great-grandparents, Hans Jørgen Pedersen (born in 1848) and his wife Ane Sofie Christensen Quist Pedersen (born in 1853). Prior to a family member immigrating to the US, old world families would sit for photography sessions since they might never see their family members again.

Great grandfather Pedersen came to the US in May 1906 on the SS Hellig Olav at the age of 22.
