He took this picture on September 20. However, it is not a single photograph. Rather, it was created by layer blending 42 separate images. For this image, 550 raw photos were taken in a timelapse format, with each shot spanning 10 seconds. Afterward, the images were processed together in Lightroom, and from there, 42 photos containing strong lightning strikes were taken into Photoshop and blended through layering to create this final image.
