How It All Started
In the year 1980, a group of men simply met and played basketball in Staten Island. There were no sponsors and no promotions. A mere fan club that was interested in the game. In 2007, this very zeal grew into one of the most popular adult basketball leagues in New York- with the help of the eminent vision of Craig Raucher. We have witnessed what passion for such a simple thing as the game can do by uniting people year after year, decade after decade. And now, with the league expanding into youth basketball, that sense of purpose is being passed on to a whole new generation.

Why Passion Needs Patience

If you’re thinking about building something meaningful, here’s one thing we’ve learned from Craig Raucher: passion isn’t enough without patience. He kept the league alive even with personal injuries, two knee replacements, and life’s usual curveballs.
