Assam: Assam MLA arrested for supporting Pakistan

Assam: The Assam Police on Thursday arrested opposition All India United Democratic Front MLA Aminul Islam on sedition charges for allegedly defending Pakistan after the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir two days ago . The AUIDF has distanced itself from the MLA's comments, saying they were his own and not those of the party. Islam, a three-time MLA from Ding constituency, was arrested from his residence in Nagaon district.
