Supreme Court: Cases against the Waqf Bill in the Supreme Court

Hours after the Parliament passed the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, the Congress and the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) parties approached the Supreme Court. Challenging the bill, they argued that it violates constitutional provisions.

The Congress and the AIMIM parties have filed petitions in the Supreme Court against the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025. Their argument is that the bill not only violates the freedom of religion as guaranteed by the Constitution, but also discriminates against Muslims.
