Uttar Pradesh: Muslim elders angered by Meerut police warnings during Ramadan.

Meerut Police in Uttar Pradesh have issued new orders banning prayers on roads. Meerut SP Ayush Vikram has warned that prayers should not be offered on the streets and strict action will be taken against anyone who does so. Religious leaders and imams have been informed in advance and people have been advised to offer prayers in mosques. He clarified that the passports and driving licenses of those who violate these rules will be cancelled.
