UN Secretary: Funding cuts for Rohingya refugees: UN Secretary General concerned

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres visited Rohingya refugee camps in Cox's Bazar district of Bangladesh , which are home to more than 1 million Rohingya refugees from Myanmar. Guterres reviewed the conditions of the refugees during the visit.

Strong criticism over cuts to humanitarian aid funding

Guterres described the cuts in humanitarian aid for Rohingya refugees by the United States and European countries as a “crime.” He expressed concern that the cuts would severely impact the refugees’ living standards. Guterres said,"The impact of budget cuts is severe on people in dire need," he said.
