What is Hadimba Temple History?
Situated in the midst of lush greenery in Manali, Himachal Pradesh, the Hadimba Temple is a sacred place with mythological and spiritual significance. Built in 1553 by Maharaja Bahadur Singh, this temple is dedicated to Goddess Hadimba, the wife of Bhima, one of the Pandavas from Mahabharata. Also known as Dhungri Temple, it stands out for its unique architecture and peaceful surroundings.
The Hadimba Temple is built in pagoda style with intricate wooden carvings of deities, mythological scenes and floral designs. According to the legend Hadimba performed intense penance at this very spot to get rid of her demon origins and attain divine status.
