Blockchain vs Distributed Ledger
While blockchain vs distributed ledger technologies (DLT) are decentralized databases, blockchain is a specific type of DLT that records data in blocks linked together in a chain. Blockchain uses cryptographic hashing for data integrity, ensuring transparency and security. DLT, on the other hand, encompasses broader technologies that may not include the same structure or cryptographic methods. Both aim to provide decentralized, transparent systems, but blockchain’s immutability and the concept of blocks set it apart as a more specialized DLT.
