Following multiple meetings, I mentioned my intention to create a documentary to raise global knowledge of their scene. The folks I spoke with were surprisingly very passionate about the concept and kindly enough to allow me freely record video for my documentary. So, over the last several months, I have been gradually exploring the underground touge drifting culture in Gunma, Japan—very literally the anime Initial D come to reality. Keeping an eye out for tell-tale indicators of drifting, I had evolved into a drift hunter looking for new connections and approaching drifters to be featured in my documentary. As of yet, it has been an amazing journey.
