The United Nations will investigate more than 3,000 reports of enforced disappearances in 36 countries around the world. At the same time, more than 10 allegations of disappearances outside the government's involvement will be reviewed. The 131st session of the UN Working Group on Enforced Disappearances began on Monday. The session will continue till September 27.

This information has been reported on the website of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). Un experts will meet with the families of the missing victims, representatives of the countries concerned, civil society and others to discuss each complaint separately, it said.
