What is the Role of NGOs in India?
The role of NGOs in India is honestly something we don’t talk about enough. These organizations quietly do the kind of work that really changes lives. They step in where help is needed most—whether it's getting kids into school, helping women stand on their own feet, providing healthcare in rural areas, or just making sure someone has a warm meal. In times of disaster, they are often first on the scene with help and support.
However, they don't just provide support and help, but they advocate for people who are often unheard, and ensure that government schemes get to the people they are intended for. The job of an NGO in India is actually about being present, being vocal, and trying to address and improve things every day. They are far from perfect, but they care, and that counts for a lot.
