Adeno-associated virus (AAV) is a single-stranded DNA virus. AAV gene vectors are regarded as safe because of their good safety, wide range of host cells (dividing and non-dividing cells), low immunogenicity, and long expression of foreign genes in the body. It is one of the most promising gene transfer vectors and has been widely used in gene therapy and vaccine research around the world. https://www.creative-diagn...

The oxidative phosphorylation pathway (OXPHOS) refers to the energy released during the process of reducing oxygen to water through the cytochrome complex existing in the respiratory chain. This promotes ATP synthesis and cellular energy conversion. Under normal circumstances, the oxidative phosphorylation pathway is one of the processes necessary to maintain the energy metabolism balance of animal and plant cells, and it can be found in many organelles and tissues. https://www.creative-diagn...

Nipah virus (NiV) is a member of the family Paramyxoviridae, genus Henipavirus. NiV was initially isolated and identified in 1999 during an outbreak of encephalitis and respiratory illness among pig farmers and people with close contact with pigs in Malaysia and Singapore. Nipah virus is in the newly created Henipavirus genus with the closely related Hendra virus and Cedar virus. The Henipavirus family is pleomorphic, meaning their shape is varied, and traditionally 40 to 600 nm in diameter. The core of a virion contains a linear ribonucleprotein (RNP) comprising of negative sense single stranded RNA. https://www.creative-diagn...

Assay precision was determined by both intra (n=5 assays) and inter assay (n=5 assays), CV of the ELISA kit all less than 10%. While actual precision may vary from laboratory to laboratory and technician to technician, it is recommended that all operators achieve precision below these design goals before reporting results. https://www.creative-diagn...

Ebola virus is an infectious virus which can cause a severe and often deadly illness known as Ebola hemorrhagic fever). The genus Ebolavirus mainly includes five subtypes, and EVD in humans is caused by four of five viruses: Bundibugyo virus (BDBV), Sudan virus (SUDV), Taï Forest virus (TAFV) and one simply called Ebola virus (EBOV, formerly Zaire Ebola virus). EBOV is the most dangerous of the known EVD-causing viruses. The fifth virus, Reston virus (RESTV), is not thought to cause disease in humans, but in other primates. https://www.creative-diagn...

Multiple sclerosis (MS), also known as encephalomyelitis disseminate, is a potentially disabling neurodegenerative disease. In MS, the immune system attacks the protective sheath (myelin) that covers nerve fibers and causes communication problems between your brain and the rest of your body. Eventually, the disease can cause permanent damage or deterioration of the nerves.
Signs and symptoms of MS vary widely and depend on the amount of nerve damage and which nerves are affected. Specific symptoms can include double vision, blindness in one eye, muscle weakness and trouble with sensation or coordination. https://reagents.creative-...

Gene therapy has emerged as a promising approach to the treatment of genetic disorders and various diseases by introducing therapeutic genes into target cells. One critical aspect of gene therapy is the use of viral vectors to deliver these therapeutic genes effectively. However, the development and utilization of viral vectors in gene therapy require comprehensive characterization and quality control to ensure their safety, efficacy, and reproducibility. https://qbd.creative-diagn...

Snakebite envenomation is considered a neglected tropical disease, affecting tens of thousands of people each year. Currently, the recommended treatment for snakebite is the use of antivenoms, or serum therapy, by neutralizing the toxins of the venom used in its production. Snake venom is an extremely complex mixture composed mainly of proteins (±90–95%), in addition to peptides, carbohydrates, segments derived from nucleic acids, metal ions, biogenic amines, lipids, and free amino acids, which have different biological activities. Effective antivenoms are expected to be able to neutralize the major toxins in a venom. https://www.creative-diagn...

Single radial immunodiffusion (SRID) is an agar gel precipitation test used to determine the quantity or concentration of an antigen in a sample. Antibody of known specificity is distributed evenly in an agar gel, and a sample containing the antigen of interest is placed in a well within the gel. Antigen then diffuses radially from the well, and a precipitin ring forms at the point of antibody-antigen equilibrium. Antigen concentrations are determined by measuring the diameter of precipitin rings and extrapolating using standard curves. https://antiviral.creative...

During the process manufacturing of biologic products, chemicals are often added to improve product expression and yield, and these substances are removed at the purification stage after their purpose has been achieved. However, there will still be some residual agents that may remain in the API and formulation products. To ensure the quality and safety of their products, pharmaceutical companies need to use highly sensitive analytical methods to detect and quantify these impurities to ensure that they are present in the product at the lowest possible level. https://qbd.creative-diagn...

Tetrodotoxin (TTX) is a potent neurotoxin. Its name derives from Tetraodontiformes including pufferfish, porcupinefish, ocean sunfish, and triggerfish; several of these species carry the toxin.
Although tetrodotoxin was discovered in some fish and found in several other aquatic animals. The actual source of tetrodotoxin, however, is not the pufferfish itself -or blue-ringed octopus, newts, and various worms and crabs that also contain the paralytic poison. Rather, tetrodotoxin is likely produced by certain infecting or symbiotic bacteria like Pseudoalteromonas, Pseudomonas, and Vibrio as well as other species found in the animals. https://www.creative-diagn...

Borrelia is a bacteria genus that contains 52 known species. This genus is named after the French biologist Amédée Borrell. It can be further catalogued into three groups: 21 species belong to the Lyme disease group, 29 species are members of the relapsing fever group and two species belong to a third group. The infection of Borrelia bacteria may cause borreliosis (also known as Lyme disease), a zoonotic, vector-borne disease. The most common sign of borreliosis is erythema migrans, an expanding area of redness, at the site of a tick bite. Possibly followed by early symptoms including headache, fever and feeling tired. If untreated, serious symptoms may appear including loss of the ability to move one or both sides of the face, severe headaches with neck stiffness, joint pains, swelling, memory problems, heart palpitations, among others. Borreliosis is transmitted primarily by ticks or by lice, which differs between species. 12 species of Borrelia are known to be capable to cause borreliosis. B. burgdorferi sensu stricto, B. garinii, B. bavariensis, B. afzelii and B. spielmanii are major species known to cause borreliosis. https://www.creative-diagn...

Bovine coronavirus infections are associated with three distinct clinical syndromes in cattle: calf diarrhea, winter dysentery (hemorrhagic diarrhea) in adult cattle, and respiratory infections in cattle of various ages, including the bovine respiratory disease complex (shipping fever) in feedlot cattle.
BCoV has several structural proteins which have different functions in the viral cycle. Among them, the S protein, which consists of two subunits, S1 (N-terminal half) and S2 (C-terminal half), has several important functions during virus-host interaction. The S1 subunit is associated with binding to host cell receptors, whereas the S2 subunit is a transmembrane protein that is required to mediate fusion of viral and cellular membranes. Thus, it is important for virus entry and pathogenesis. Another importance of the S protein is its antigenicity. Antibodies induced by the S protein are highly neutralizing and are more stable during the course of an infection than those induced by the hemagglutinin-esterase protein. https://www.creative-diagn...
